JOB SUMMARY: Assist in the preparation and service of daily meals. Assist the Food Service Director-Chef with inventory and order management. Implement staff training in proper kitchen sanitation and cleaning guidelines. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Food Service Director-Chef with the preparation of high-quality, wholesome meals to exceed the expectations of our guests. Assure that meals are served on time and at correct temperatures. Supervise the kitchen and staff in the absence of the Food Service Director-Chef. Assure that proper cleaning and sanitation procedures are followed in the kitchen and dining room. Follow Pangea inventory and order management guidelines to ensure quality products and minimal waste.
SKILLS REQUIRED: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Knowledge of quantity-cooking techniques. Ability to prepare a variety of menu items including soups, salads, sauces, meat, seafood & poultry dishes, vegetarian entrees, breakfast dishes and desserts. Ability to work with others in a positive and respectful manner. Ability to supervise and motivate team members so that they feel good about the job they are doing and their ability to grow in their positions. Ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice. Ability to take initiative. Problem-solving skills. Ability to deal with guest’s requests and needs in a professional manner. Willingness to learn. |
